I am trying to convert USGS topo PDFs to JPEGs so that they can be loaded into mapinfo. Any hints how to not compromise the image quality? When you zoom in on the jpeg the details are blurred.

Thanks in advance,

Abel

Hello Abel, welcome to GIS Corner.

JPEG is a lossy image, meaning it looses quality (compressed). I would recommend taking the PDF and saving as a TIFF (uncompressed) to use in MapInfo. The TIFF image will be larger, but will not loose all the quality of the image.

I hope this helps.

Thank you,
Daniel

@cadmoogle: what software do you use for saving a PDF as TIFF?

I use Adobe Acrobat Standard to save as Tiffs.
